Yves Saint Laurent Yvresse is a legendary fruity chypre fragrance designed for women, celebrated for its unique, festive, and sparkling character. Originally created by master perfumer Sophia Grojsman in 1993, the fragrance was famously launched under the name “Champagne”. However, following intense legal objections from French champagne producers over the protected name, YSL officially renamed the perfume to Yvresse (a play on the French word ivresse, meaning intoxication or elation).

Today, the scent lives on as part of YSL Beauty’s La Collection heritage line.

Fragrance Profile & Scent Journey

Yvresse is crafted to mimic the sensation of drinking fine champagnefizzy, luxurious, and celebratory.

Top Notes: A vibrant, juicy splash of nectarine and litchi (lychee), which delivers its signature effervescent and sparkling fruity opening.

Heart Notes: An elegant, ultra-feminine bouquet centering on a rose harmony blended with violet blossom.

Base Notes: A rich, sensual dry-down anchored by patchouli, oakmoss, and vetiver, which grounds the sweetness and gives it classical chypre elegance.
